Radico herbal hair colour instructions for use at home:
Before colouring with Radico herbal hair colour
Wash your hair
Herbal colour always remains on the surface of the hair. Therefore, herbal colour is always used on washed hair. If you are using herbal colour at home for the first time, we recommend doing a deep cleanse for the hair. For deep cleansing, you can use a deep-cleansing shampoo, Radico solid shampoo, Radico amla, reetha and shikakai powder, or do a clay wash for the hair. Deep cleansing the hair is important especially the first time. Later, deep cleansing can be done 1–2 times a year or more often if the hair becomes greasy very easily. We recommend using a natural cosmetics shampoo, because it is gentle and does not leave residues in the hair.
Preparation of Radico herbal hair colour
Required amount:
20 g – 30 g – for short hair
40 g – 60 g – for shoulder-length hair, or medium-length hair
70 g – 100 g – for waist-length hair, or long hair
Take the required amount of powder according to the length of your hair. Add boiling water to the Radico colour powder in a ratio of 1 : 3, meaning 1 part colouring substance and 3 parts water.
Add water if necessary to achieve a “yoghurt-like” consistency. The paste should not be too thick or too liquid. Apply the paste to the hair, starting from the roots. Apply evenly through to the ends.
Application of Radico herbal hair colour
Start applying the colour from the roots immediately after mixing the colour. To cover grey hair, a thicker layer of paste may be needed. When the paste has been applied evenly to the hair, cover the hair with the shower cap included in the package.
NB: Use herbal colour generously and without saving, especially the first time.
Processing time of Radico herbal hair colour
After applying the colour, wait at least 45–60 minutes. If you want a darker colour shade, let the hair colour act longer. The colour can safely be in the hair for even two or three hours. To achieve a deeper colour, the hair can also be warmed with a hairdryer during the processing time.
Rinsing Radico herbal hair colour
When Radico hair colour has acted for 45–90 minutes, wash the hair lightly with mild shampoo and rinse the hair under running water until the water flowing from the hair is clear. Use little conditioner if necessary. Style and dry the hair in the desired way.
Important notes about Radico herbal hair colour
- Use the herbal colour mixture immediately once you have added boiling water to the colour powder. Do not leave the colour mixture standing. Otherwise, an unwanted colouring result may occur.
- If you want a darker shade from any colour, let the paste act longer in the hair and warm the hair during the processing time.
- The final result may not be ideal on the first use, especially if the hair is in poor condition after previous chemical treatments. Therefore, it may be necessary to repeat the colouring 2–3 times to achieve the desired final result. Do the colourings at 24-hour intervals.
- After colouring, it must be taken into account that the colour may darken for up to five days. Natural hair colours oxidise and become deeper and more intense during the first few days.
- Radico herbal colour can be used on permed hair.
- Radico herbal colour does not stain the skin permanently.
Please note that Radico herbal colour is made completely from herbs and is a 100% natural colouring substance. The results of the colouring substance are different and more subtle than with chemical colours. Therefore, be patient and enjoy the natural final result of Radico herbal colour!
